(UPDATE 2) According to a filing with the SEC, RootMusic has recieved a total of $2.3 million in funding to build out its popular application that helps musicians design more robust Facebook pages.

The company has not yet named the source of the investment.

(Update: Funding came from Mohr Davidow Ventures with David Feinleib. It's BandPage app is now the #1 entertainment and music app on Facebook and the 17th largest overall app.) RootMusic offers both a free and a paid version of its BandPages which overcome most of Facebook's shortcomings as a music site adding tracks, photos, videos, a tour calendar and more to an artist's Facebook presence.
