SoundCloud Streams Now Count On UK, Irish Charts

SoundCloud_logo (1)UPDATED: Streams on SoundCloud now count to the UK and Irish charts thanks to new partnerships with the Official Charts Company and the Irish Recorded Music Association. Included are all plays on licensed, monetized tracks.SoundCloud streams will be included in The Official Singles Chart, The Official Albums chart, and The Official Independent Singles Chart for both the UK and Ireland, in addition to a number of genre charts including Classical, Dance, R&B, Rock & Metal.Compiled by the Official Charts Company on behalf of the British music industry and the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA), SoundCloud streams will debut on the UK and Ireland reports for week ending September 21, 2018.“SoundCloud is the foundational music platform for creators and we are committed to empowering them with the best tools and services to grow their careers,” said Raoul Chatterjee, Director, Content Partnerships. “Charts are a great measure of success for creators, and we’re excited their SoundCloud streams will now count toward the UK and Ireland’s Official Charts.”While SoundCloud streams are already counted in the US and Canada, the addition of UK charts means more localized exposure for artists.
