Spotify added concert dates on artist profile pages on its desktop web app via Songkick almost a month ago. But overnight, that functionality has been added to their iPhone and iPod apps as well. After updating to the new app, users searching for an artist now also see an "On Tour" section within the page. One tap and they are are taken to Songkick for more concerts, information and ticketing links.
The partnership is typical of tour data deals the Songkick has made since launching. Recently BandsInTown and BandPage have also cut high profile deals to expand their tour dates to more music sites and services.
Next Web first spotted the upgrade, which also includes new search features that adds playlists and user profiles. There's also support of the Japanese, Russian and Indonesian languages.
