Spotify has expanded its family plan to 6 premium users for $14.99 USD (£14.99 UK, €14.99 NL) . That's up from 2 users for the same price; and now matches family deals offered for months by Apple Music and Google Play.While policing of what constitutes a family member is often lax, this deal, and others like it, are designed to lure more mainstream users to pay for music subscriptions. More paying users means a big pot of cash distributed to rights holders, music streamers rioghtly argue. But as with ad supported streaming, doscounts also lower the overall per stream rate paid to creators and labels.
