Facing increasing competition from YouTube and TikTok, Spotify is in talks with record labels and music publishers about adding full-length music videos.

Spotify already encourages creators to upload a “Canvas’ – looping GIFs under 10 seconds long and ‘Clips‘ 30-second or shorter vertical videos designed to share short announcements and the stories behind their songs.

Video podcasts are reportedly one of the fastest-growing content categories on Spotify.

There is no timeline on when Spotify will begin testing full-length videos, according to Bloomberg who first reported the talks with rightsholders.
