Spotify announced today that it has launched in Brazil with a full catalog including many thousands of local artists. Brazil is the world's 8th largest music market generating $257.2 million in sales annually. Today's announcement puts the music streamer in 57 markets globally.
Despite increased competition. last week Spotify announced that it has 10 million paying subscribers and more than 40 million active users in 56 markets worldwide. That's up from 24 million active users and 6 million paying subscribers just over a year ago.
