Spotify has launched a Spotify COVID-19 Music Relief project to help musicians and the music community with a pledge to match $10 million in donations to music related non-profits, enable artist fundraising and other initiatives.

“Though streaming continues to play a key role in connecting creators with their fans numerous other sources of revenue have been interrupted or stopped altogether by this crisis,” Spotify said in a statement Tuesday.

$10M In Matching Donations to MusicCares, PRS, Help Musicians

Spotify is partnering with MusiCares, PRS Foundation, and Help Musicians, and others to funnel funds to musicians and the music community.

The streamer ill s making a donation to these organizations and will match donations made via a Spotify COVID-19 Music Relief up to $10 million.

Spotify is also close to launching a feature that will enable artists to fundraise directly from their profile page by linking to a verified fundraising campaign. Spotify will not take a commission on the fundraising.

“Soon, we will give artists the ability to drive listeners to a fundraising destination of their choice on their Spotify artist profile pages,” says Spotify. “This will give artists on Spotify the ability to link out to a verified funding page for themselves, for another artist in need, or for a separate initiative of their choice.
