Spotify’s Paid Subscribers Grew 270% Last Year In Deezer’s Home Country

Spotify newDeezer may be based in France and poised for a flashy IPO. But that has not stopped it's number #1 competitor Spotify is achieving impressive growth there in paid subscribers thanks to a partnership with Bouygues Telecom.

Spotify now has 650,000+ paying subscribers in France, up 270%  in just the last year.  The world's top music streamer can thank its partnership with Bouygues Telecom, according to French newspaper Les Echos. But for now, France based music streamer Deezer is still number #1, has 1.5 million paid subscribers there.

Spotify launched  its partnership with Bouygues which bundles its Premium service with more expensive data plans in January and since then has seen 150% growth.
