Stagelink Closes 2nd Seed Round For Crowdsourced Concerts

[UPDATED] Only playing the places where your fans are is the holy grail of touring. Several startups have tried to achieve that goal by crowdsourcing live shows. Stagelink is the latest, and their off to a solid start.

Berlin based Staglink has completed its second round of seed funding from investors with deep ties to the entertainment industry. The amount of this round was not disclosed. Previously, the startup had raised $118,000 in 2015.

UPDATE: An informed source puts the funding at "a high six-digit euro figure."

The round’s main investor was Chione Ltd., an investment firm with a track record of investments in large tour promoters and independent labels. German comedian Carolin Kebekus also became an investor. She is already using the platform to promote and sell tickets. Additional investors in this round include Thomas Hesse, former President and Executive Board Member of Bertelsmann AG and former President of Sony Music Entertainment, who recently already joined Stagelink’s advisory board, and Berlin based film production and investment company DCM.Stagelink calls itself a fan-powered tour promoter. Using the platform fans crowdsource live events. Using the platform artists and managers can track fan-driven, real-time demand to plan, pre-finance, and de-risk tours.The startup will use the funding to expand internationally.
