(Updated) Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert took an only half tongue in cheek whack at the recent glut of music licensing in commercials with a "sellout off" featuring the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney and Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig. The two heavily licensed indie rock bands each aired commercials featuring their songs in a competition based on their nominations for the 2010 Best Alternative Music Album Grammy. As one commentator advised, it was time to "leave your souls at the door". Watch the video:
