Symphonic Launches Its 5th Annual Women Empowered+ Mentorship Program

The annual Women Empowered+ mentorship program is back — mentees can apply today through March 23 to be paired with a music industry pro.

Symphonic, a leading music technology and services company for independent labels, managers, and artists, is celebrating Women’s History Month by opening applications for its annual Women Empowered+ mentorship program.

Mentees can apply today through March 23 to be paired up with established professionals in their area of focus. Mentors participating in this year’s program include:

  • Kassandra Robinson, Associate Manager, Label Partnerships, Spotify
  • Sarah Davis, Director, Global Client Services & In-House Forensic Musicologist, Downtown Music Publishing
  • Mayra Vargas, VP, Publishing Sync, Concord Music Publishing
  • Bianca Alarcon, VP of Content Development, Spanish Broadcasting System
  • Juliette Leparrée, Business Development Manager, Music Story
  • Bilarys Ramirez, Comptroller (Accounting), Rimas Publishing
  • Ellen Truley, Chief Marketing & External Affairs Officer, The MLC
  • Isabel Echeverri, Strategic Partner Manager, Music Label Partnerships, Meta
  • Laurie Jakobsen, Founder & President, Jaybird Communications

Additional mentors are also participating from companies including Audiomack, Chartmetric, Cinq Music, FUGA, M for Montreal, Sony, We Make Noise, and more.

Now in its fifth year, the Women Empowered+ mentorship program has already welcomed 1,011 total participants, connecting 306 mentors from companies across the music industry with 705 mentees spanning 181 cities and 46 countries across the globe.

Symphonic created Women Empowered+ to connect emerging talent with established professionals who provide real guidance, industry insight, and meaningful support. Through structured mentorship, participants gain a deeper understanding of the music business, refine their focus, and strengthen their skills alongside some of the industry’s leading voices.

Stephanie Santiago-Rolón is the CEO of Elevated Music Industries, and was a mentor in last year’s program. Stephanie recalls:

“Sitting with brave, ambitious women and cutting through the noise to talk about real strategy and real doubt felt grounding and energizing. Watching them refine their vision and step more boldly into leadership reminded me why community matters so much in this industry."

Mentors and mentees will be selected and introduced to each other in April. They will then meet for at least one hour a month for the next six months either virtually or in person. Symphonic will also host a kickoff call in April for all participants to review best practices, a midpoint check-in in July to assess progress and recalibrate if necessary, and a final wrap-up meeting in November with all mentors and mentees to reflect on the program and what participants have learned.

Janette Berrios, VP of Corporate Marketing at Symphonic, says:

“Five years into running this mentorship program, I am incredibly proud of the meaningful connections we’ve been able to facilitate across the music industry... The feedback we receive each year reinforces how important it is to continue expanding the program and advocating for female empowerment.”
