Swift called the sale her "worst case scenario;" and re-recording the hits would both give her control of the new masters and devalue Braun's reposted $300 million purchase."This is what happens when you sign a deal at fifteen to someone for whom the term ‘loyalty’ is clearly just a contractual concept," Swift wrote in a candid Tumblr post which she signed "Sad and grossed out."  Swift recently signed to Universal, but Big Machine and now Braun controls all of her prior multi-platinum recordings.Re-record Clauses & 39 Million SoldMany record contracts allow artists to record new versions of the same songs 5 years after they were first released. If Swift's contract states five years, she could re-record her first five hit albums which collectively have sold more than 39 million copies in the US. "U should go in & re-record all the songs that U don’t own the masters on," Clarkson tweeted encouraging Swift to ad "brand new art & some kind of incentive so fans will no longer buy the old versions."
