Fans buying tickets through Eventim USA will now have a new way to support independent venues without waiting for the next fundraiser.
The ticketing company has partnered with the National Independent Venue Foundation (NIVF) to add a dedicated donation option directly to every digital ticket receipt processed through its US platform. The new feature allows fans to make tax-deductible micro-donations that will help fund emergency relief, workforce development, and other programs supporting independent venues and promoters across the country.
The initiative builds on Eventim USA's longstanding relationship with the independent venue community. The company was an early supporter of the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) and has previously contributed to NIVF's Emergency Relief Fund, which has distributed millions of dollars to independent venues, promoters, and festivals facing unexpected financial hardship.
Funds raised through the new receipt-based donation feature will support several of NIVF's core initiatives, including its Emergency Relief Fund, the Venue Operations eXperience (VOX) workforce development program, and community initiatives designed to strengthen independent live performance spaces nationwide.
While the individual donations may be small, the model reflects a growing trend across the live music industry: embedding charitable giving into the fan experience itself. Rather than relying solely on annual fundraising campaigns, ticketing platforms can create ongoing opportunities for audiences to support the venues they care about at the moment they purchase tickets.
At Hypebot, we've long supported the independent venue ecosystem and the organizations working to preserve it. Independent venues remain the entry point for countless artists and an essential part of local music communities, making sustainable funding initiatives like this an important addition to the industry's support network.
