Ticketmaster, now a unit of Live Nation Entertainment and the Federal Trade Commission are set to announce a settlement today over complaints about concert tickets that turned out to not exist.
The tickets in question were to a May 18 Bruce Springsteen concert set for the Verizon Center in Washington D.C. As many as 1,000 customers claimed that they did not received tickets they purchased through Ticketmaster's secondary ticket market website Ticketsnow.com. Ticketmaster subsequently issued refunds and said that the tickets had been listed on Ticketsnow by an independent broker who never actually owned the tickets.
Ticketmaster subsequently issued refunds to the many of the affected customers. While details of the settlement will not be announced til Thursday, it is expected that it will settle all outstanding complaints related to this incident, the Wall Street Journal reported.
