Universal Music, Avenged Sevenfold To Launch VRLIVE Virtual Reality Concert Platform

Live music has been largely unaffected by the radical shifts that shook the rest of the music industry. But that appears about to change with the adoption of virtual reality. Imagine going to a concert without ever leaving home?

Yesterday came word that 70's superstars Abba are reuniting to work with Simon Fuller and give fans a fresh experience with the help of both virtual and augmented reality; and Universal Music Group is diving into VR with its own partnerships.

UMG and rock band Avenged Sevenfold to launch their new virtual reality platform, VTRGO VR. To mark the occasion, a live concert by Avenged Sevenfold will be streamed in 3D /360-degree, allowing viewers with VR gear at home to experience a unique and up-and-close view of the concert. VRLIVE will also be streaming the event to 50 Samsung Gear VR headsets on the ground level at the event.
