Zoe Keating, known for taking a progressive approach to both her music and her music business, is now also experimenting with letting her fans decide where she'll perform this Fall. "I have a private gig in Cincinnati in late October," Keating wrote fans. "Rather than fly straight home, I would like to play a few concerts. So…where should I go? Since you’re the ones I want to play for, I’m going to ask you!"
Keating recently put together a successful London appearance using Songkick's Detour gig crowdfunding platform. With Detour not yet available in the U.S., Keating and her agency Skyline Music decided to go direct to the fans.
"Here is a list of cities in the region that I’ve either never or rarely visited," wrote Keating her fans. "If you would really come to see me perform in any of these cities, vote and then we’ll crowdsource a week long October tour. This is still a work-in-progress so thank you for doing this experiment with me." [View the poll here.]
