Facebook Starts Selling No Service Fee Concerts Tickets

Facebook is launching a Buy Tickets” button to sell tickets without leaving the app or site. No electronic or paper tickets will be issued, with the purchased tickets available for pickup at the venue's door or Will Call.

So far, "Buy Tickets" is only being tested small group of independent venues, event promoters and artists in the San Francisco area, Buzzfeed has confirmed.

Facebook's move into ticketing could be a good option for small venues and artists; and it could be great for fan club and VIP sales. But don't expect Facebook to replace Ticketmaster or any of the larger ticketing services who offer a multitude of services and have long term contracts, any time soon.
