Soundcloud Launches “Takes Questions” Audio Q & A Platform. We’ve Got Private Beta Invites

image from takesquestions.com(UPDATED) SoundCloud launched a new site, Takes Questions, in today, which enables users to take questions and leave audio answers from a customizable web page.  For musicians and others, Takes Questions offers a simple and personal way to more deeply engage their fans. Several artists are already using the platform in beta including Imogen Heap and pop punkers All Time Low

MORE & GET A BETA INVITE:

In fact, Takes Questions was Initially created by SoundCloud developers in collaboration with Heap at MIDEM Hack Day earlier this year. It's the first of a number of new experimental products that SoundCloud says are set to launch using its API.

“To know your questions are actually being heard and answered by the people you admire is far more meaningful and exciting than simply using the written word," says Alexander Ljung, SoundCloud’s founder and CEO.“

Takes Questions users create a customizable web page (for example: http://alex.takesquestions.com) where anyone can record questions straight from the browser. In response, they can then be answered from a browser, iPhone or Android phone and connected so the ‘Q&A’ is played back in sequence. As each question is answered, a tweet can automatically alert the individual and in turn, all of both of their followers.

BETA INVITES –

For now, Takes Questions is in invitation only beta, but Hypebot has free beta invites for the first 25 to sign up here.  UPDATE – SoundCloud has asked that we use this link: http://takesquestions.com/invite and then enter the code hypebot . You will need to link to your SounCloud account as well.

Please come back and tell us what you think of Take Questions.

  1. Link now works. But there still seems to be a problem with Soundcloud once the code has been entered and you allow Soundcloud to connect your account. The code works but Soundcloud generates the message:
‘We’re sorry, but something went wrong. We’ve been notified about this issue and we’ll take a look at it shortly.’
Tried it a few times….still no joy!

  2. Same problem here:
We’re sorry, but something went wrong.
We’ve been notified about this issue and we’ll take a look at it shortly.

  3. Same here Chandler. Have all the 25 invites been used Bruce? If so that sucks b/c I’m pretty confident i was among the 1st 25 when it didn’t work

  4. I’ve just been informed that the beta invites have been used. Sorry guys. For those that got one, please let me know what you think of the new service.
