Turntable.fm DJ Battle “Tech The Halls” To Benefit One Laptop Per Child
Tech the Halls is a crowd-fundraising event organized by Horn Group that will feature big names in tech media in a Turntable.fm dj battle to support One Laptop Per Child (OLPC). Listeners will judge the battles and a group donation to OLPC will be given in the winner's name to provide laptops to disabled students in the U.S. The event takes place December 16 and you have now through that date to contribute your support.
Tech the Halls
The goal of Tech the Halls is to raise $10,000 to provide 50 laptops for U.S. students with disabilities via One Laptop Per Child.
As OLPC's Giulia D'Amico says:
"These computers are vital to empowering disabled students in an increasingly connected and digital world — each laptop is a catalyst for helping previously marginalized children learn and transform the community around them."
On December 16, ten prominent figures in tech media, who are still to be announced, will face off in dj battles on Turntable.fm. Each battle will last 30 minutes, audiences will vote and the donation to OLPC will be made in the name of the dj with the highest score.
Names of the matchups won't be announced until December 16 on this page.
Even if you aren't checking out the battles, you can donate now and help get laptops to disabled kids in the States.
