Techstars Music Accelerator Launches Global Search For 2018 Class

image from www.hypebot.comLaunched by respected startup accelerator Techstars and led by former Topspin and Twitter music head Bob Moczydlowsky, Techstars Music graduated its first class of 11 startups earlier this year. Now, a global search for worthy 2018 candidates has begun.

Techstars Music 2018 accelerator starts in Los Angeles on February 5, 2018; and leader Bob Moczydlowsky and his team have launched a worldwide tour "to meet founders who are solving real problems for the global music business." Applications close on October 15th and they will be making their final selections around December 15th.

In 2017, Techstars invested in 11 startups that have gone on to raise more than $15
million collectively. Six of those 11 companies came to LA from outside the United States, a ratio that they hope to continue with the 2018 class. They've already travelled to Mexico, Japan, Australia, Canada, Boston, Denver, looking for the the right candidates, and plan to visit 10 more countries and dozens of cities.

Part of Techstars' model is deep cooperation with the global music business. " We believe cooperation produces greater return on investment," says Moz. This year's corporate partners include Warner Music Group, Harmonix Music Systems, Q Prime Management, Bill Silva Entertainment, Silva Artist Management, Era of the Engineer, and Sony Music.

Each will provide capital, and are involved at every step of the process, from selection to mentoring to business development and even follow-on investment. "Their diversity of skills and talent help the startups in our program gain real, planetary advantage," Moz adds.

Techstars Music is for startups working on scalable solutions for:
