SXSW 2019 Names Initial Performers, 1 Week Left To Apply

image from celebrityaccess.comSXSW,  the annual music festival and industry confab, announced the initial list of showcasing artists lined up to perform at the 2019 edition of the event, and the deadline to join the party is approaching quickly.

Each year, the festival hosts a curated mix of up-and-coming as well as established artists from across the spectrum of music who perform everywhere from intimate clubs to major music venues in Austin.

The 2019 edition of SXSW Music Festival, the 33rd year for the event, will kick off on Monday, March 11 and run for the whole week before concluding on Sunday, March 17, 2019 in downtown Austin, Texas.

A few highlights from this first round of announced showcase artists include: Amanda Palmer (Boston MA), Amyl & The Sniffers (Melbourne AUSTRALIA), Art School Girlfriend (Wrexham UK-WALES), Bane’s World (Long Beach CA), The Beths (Auckland NEW ZEALAND), The Chills (Dunedin NEW ZEALAND), Drahla (Leeds UK-ENGLAND), Ecko (Buenos Aires ARGENTINA), Ezra Collective (London UK-ENGLAND), Flohio (London UK-ENGLAND), Gaelynn Lea (Duluth MN), HÆLOS (London UK-ENGLAND), Laura Jane Grace & the Devouring Mothers (Chicago IL), Madison Cunningham (Orange County CA), Oh Sees (Los Angeles CA), Otoboke Beaver (Kyoto JAPAN), PNTHN (San Marcos TX), Puma Blue (London UK-ENGLAND), Say Sue Me (Busan SOUTH KOREA), Stealth (Birmingham UK-ENGLAND), Steve’n’Seagulls (Jyväskylä FINLAND), Swervedriver (Oxford UK-ENGLAND), Viagra Boys (Stockholm SWEDEN), Westerman (London UK-ENGLAND), and Yussef Dayes (London UK-ENGLAND).

SXSW organizers also expanded on the list of announced keynote speakers for the conference side of the festival. The list includes previously-announced Keynotes Shirley Manson, lead vocalist of the critically-acclaimed alternative rock band Garbage, and singer-songwriter Lauren Mayberry of the Scottish electronic pop band Chvrches, as well as Featured Speakers including artist and musician Amanda Palmer, musician Wyclef Jean, and multi-platinum songwriter, artist, and advocate Ross Golan.
