42nd Blues Music Awards Nominees Announced

Rick Estrin the Nightcats lead the 42nd Blues Music Awards Nominees with five nominations, including band of the year, Instrumentalist Harmonica (which he won in 2020), and contemporary blues male artist award.

Shemekia Copeland, Rick Estrin, John Németh, Sugaray Rayford, and Lil’ Ed Williams have been nominated for the B.B. King Entertainer of the Year.

Elvin Bishop & Charlie Musselwhite, Bobby Rush, Ronnie Earl & The Broadcaster, Sugar Ray & The Bluetones, and Shemekia Copeland are in the running for Album of the Year.

Winners are selected by members of the Blues Foundation. Voting for this year’s awards opened on January 28th and closes on March 12th.

The Awards will be held on June 6th as a virtual event. The show starts at 4PM CT and will be live-streamed on the Blues Foundation’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
