Grammy Awards 2021 Postponed To March 14 In Conflict With SAG Awards

UPDATED: The 2021 GRAMMY Awards have been postponed to the same day as the Screen Actors’ Guild Awards.

The awards will now take place on March 14th, due to rising infection rates in Los Angeles and California.

Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and Dua Lipa led the 2021 nominees which were announced in November.

But the new Grammys date clashes with the Screen Actors’ Guild awards. The screen actors union said it was “extremely disappointed” by the conflict.

“We announced the same date for the SAG Awards last July with the intent to give the greatest possible scheduling consideration for other awards shows,” SAG in a statement. “We expect the same consideration from sister organizations throughout the industry.”

“Nothing is more important than the health and safety of those in our music community and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly on producing the show,” said a statement from the Recording Academy.
