With YouTube ‘Super Thanks’ fans can now tip a video or artist

YouTube has added Super Thanks, its s first monetization feature that allows fans to tip creators for uploaded videos rather than livestreams.

Super Thanks is YouTube’s fourth Paid Digital Good. It joins Super Chat, Super Stickers, and channel subscriptions in enabling fans to pay musicians and other creators directly.

If a viewer wants to show its love for an artist or video, they can tip one of four pre-set amounts ranging to $2 and $50 in local currency as well as leave a message which will be highlighted in the comments section.

From YouTube:

“Super Thanks is currently in beta and with today’s expansion, is now available to thousands of monetizing creators. The feature is available to creators and viewers in 68 countries on desktop and mobile devices (Android and iOS). Creators can check if they have early access by following the instructions here. If they don’t yet have access, fear not — we will be expanding availability to all eligible creators in the YouTube Partner Program later this year.”
