Fees waived again today as Bandcamp Fridays fan participation tops 800,000

As on the first Friday of every month since March of 2020, today Friday, August 6th Bandcamp is waiving its revenue share to help support artists and indie labels hurt by the pandemic.

Over the last 13 monthly Fridays, 800,000 fans bought $56 million dollars in music and merch on Bandcamp.

On Bandcamp Fridays, an average of 93% of a fan’s money reaches the artist or label after payment processor fees. That compares to a purchase on any other day of the month when an average of 82% reaches the artist or label.

Fans have paid artists $778 million since Bandcamp launched including $14 million in the last 30 days.

Bandcamp has pledged to continue the program on the first Friday of every month through the end of 2021.
