All Coachella 2022 attendees can claim a free “In Bloom” seed NFT via the FTX app.

“On Friday morning of each festival weekend, all owners will see their seed blossom into a desert flower designed exclusively for Weekend 1 and Weekend 2 of Coachella 2022.”

Fans can also use their commemorative flower NFT to redeem unique festival benefits including a special entry line, limited edition merch and food and beverage vouchers.

Wachsman expands to LA with Ally Norton at helm

Wachsman, the web3 communications and strategy consultancy, is opening a Los Angeles office led by Spinlab and Shore Fire alum Ally Norton. The firm currently has offices in New York, Dublin, and Singapore.

In the Web3 space, Wachsman has worked with SCRT Labs (the company behind Quentin Tarantino’s NFT collection), the Quincy Jones-backed music and sports NFT marketplace OneOf, and Decentralized Pictures, the film non-profit co-founded by Roman Coppola,

BLOCKFEST: Music meets blockchain festival

Blockfest, a music meets blockchain festival is being programmed fin Kuala Lumpur this September with 22 acts announced so far including Kyoto Protocol, Gerhana Ska Cinta and LUST.

According to its site, Blockfest “aims to bring the best of the best from blockchain technology, showcasing the trending world of cryptocurrencies, [and] bridging the gap between traditional and modern arts by NFT [non-fungible tokens] arts exhibition”.

Ashanti launches first NFTs on women owned EQ Exchange platform

Ashanti celebrated the 20th anniversary of her multi-platinum debut by announcing her first NFTs on the EQ Exchange platform.

Founded by Canadian tech entrepreneur Janice Taylor, EQ Exchange is the first female owned Web3 company, dedicated to empowering musicians and rewarding fans through blockchain tech.

“I’m so grateful that y’all been rocking with me for over 20 years!!!” Ashanti posted on Instagram. “Now I finally get to give you something in return. I’m beyond excited to announce that my NFT collection with EQ Exchange celebrating 20 years of ‘Ashanti,’ will be available Wednesday, April 6th and I want y’all to have ownership in these new masters!!” 

Nomad Media Club to launch Web3 music streaming service, community

Nomad Media Clubis set to launch a Web3 music streaming platform later this month that they say will become the first “holistic home for audio sharing and social networking, with full platform access gated by ownership of NFTs.”

Blockparty + Lively

Digital collectibles platform Blockparty has partnered with Lively to help creators and fans form deeper and lasting relationships via NFTs.

“The pandemic created a lot of anxiety and confusion for artists, between the pause on touring and in-person experiences that help support their careers and the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic in general. However, it also opened up a gateway for a lot of creativity,” said Marc Brownstein, co-founder of Lively and bassist of The Disco Biscuits. “As an artist who is constantly looking for new and interesting ways to build relationships with my fans, I was honored to be able to help the creator community at large by building a platform to bring the live experience back to life, even from home.”
