Spotify is planning a $20 Premium tier, but will anyone care?
Multiple sources are reporting that Spotify will soon launch a new $19.99 per month Premium tier that will include HiFi audio and other exclusive features.
First spotted as an option presented to a user trying to cancel their Spotify account, Spotify Premium will include everything in a $9.99 per month Spotify Individual subscription, plus:
- HiFi Audio
- Studio Sound
- Headphone Tuner
- Audio Insights
- Library Pro
- Playlist Pro
It’s not yet clear the exact nature of several of the add-ons.

Anything that raises Spotify revenue is good news for artists and labels, but user interest in improved streaming audio has always been limited. So limited, in fact, that Apple Music and Amazon Music already offer their versions of HD audio to users at no additional cost.
