New Shazam features touring musicians will find helpful

For the past year, Shazam has been working with names like Daddy Yankee, Marco Mengoni, Fletcher, Sam Smith, and Charlie Puth to introduce new concert features to deepen the connection between artists and fans. Here are some new features you definitely don’t want to miss…

QR Codes

For Alicia Key’s worldwide tour, they tried a first-of-its kind feature enabling an in-venue QR code which concert-goers could scan to gain access to exclusive content, like behind-the-scenes videos, tour photos, wallpapers, and a concert set list, highlighting key moments throughout the tour. Shazam also notified fans when new content was released before and after her shows.

For those who couldn’t attend, they could still identify or search for Alicia’s songs to access on-the-road exclusives through the concert discovery module on her song pages, too.

Apple Music x Maps

Now, you can find Shazam features integrated into both Apple Music and Maps to help fans explore upcoming shows in their area with ease. Apple Maps also introduced Apple Music Guides, a brand-new series of more than 40 travel guides which highlight live music venues around the world. Users can browse by city, genre, or music scene, and discover everything from venue history to ticketing info while adding concerts to their calendars and streaming songs from upcoming performers.

Bandsintown

Shazam users can seamlessly view upcoming shows and find ticket info directly from the Shazam app. Whether fans search for you or Shazam one of your songs, your Bandsintown events will be front and center on your Shazam artist page. To set this up, follow these steps:

  • Create or claim your artist page on Bandsintown for Artists.
  • From the dashboard, click on Profile and add the Apple Music artist page URL.
  • Once your artist page is created or claimed and your Apple Music URL is added to your profile, visit the Event ssection and be sure all of your upcoming shows are listed.
