YouTube, YouTube Music updates are big wins for Musicians
As part of its 10th Anniversary celebration, YouTube and YouTube Music updates are big wins for musicians and music marketers.

YouTube + Bandsintown
Leading the list of YouTube and YouTube Music updates is an exclusive Bandsintown partnership. This means shows entered into Bandsintown For Artists or Bandsintown PRO for venues and festivals automatically appear on YouTube.
Fans can now discover shows while watching videos and YouTube Shorts. They can also find them while exploring Official YouTube Artist Channels, and soon, the YouTube homepage. Later this year, the integration expands to YouTube Music. There, live events will appear on the home and artist pages.
Thanks to the Bandsintown partnership, YouTube is also adding new notifications. They will let fans know when their favorite artists announce new releases, merch, and tour dates.

Playlists & Comments
YouTube shared that fans have created over 4 billion music playlist, including 1.8 billion public ones.
Soon fans will be able to share comments directly on albums and playlists. In addition to fan to fan interactions, artists may want to join in the discussion.
YouTube Music updates also add taste match playlists. This is a new way to connect over shared music tastes and discover songs. The playlists are automatically updated daily based on the music taste of everyone who has joined them.

Fan Badges
YouTube recently added badges for fans on YouTube Music, offering new ways to shoutout and reward dedicated fans. New badges include “First to Watch” and “Top Listener” and more are promised.
Music Video Milestones
New music video watch milestones will highlight official artist videos nearing major “view” milestones. Badges for 100,000, 1 million, and 1 billion views are designed to motivate fans. They encourage them to help artists hit these major milestones.
“These updates are just the beginning of our next chapter at YouTube Music. We’re focusing on bringing fans even closer to the artists they love,” said Jay Fowler, Senior Director, Product, YouTube Music in a blog post announcing the YouTube Music updates.
