Two California Ticketing Bills Advance
Two California ticketing bills received initial Senate Committee approvals this week.
AB 1720 would cap ticket resale prices at 10% above face value, inclusive of all fees. AB 1349 bans speculative ticketing, and cracks down on deceptive websites and bots that manipulate ticket availability.
The National Independent Talent Organization (NITO) is among the music trade supporting the bills and calling members to reach out to legislators to help pass the two more Committee votes needed before it is brought to a full vote of both chambers.
Nederlander adds Todd Miller
Nederlander Concerts has added Live Nation veteran Todd Miller to it's talent buying team.

Calls For EU Dynamic Pricing Ban
Three consumer groups - Euroconsumers, Football Supporters Europe and Live DMA - are calling on EU legislators to ban dynamic pricing in live events.
The European Commission’s Digital Fairness Act is expected to come under review by the EU Regulatory Scrutiny Board on July 1st. “With the legislative process entering a crucial phase, now is the moment to ensure fair and transparent access to culture and sport for all,” according to the organizations.
Premium canned water brand StageWater is building it's brand by supporting the live music industry. After debuting at CMA Fest, the brans was a sponsor of NIVA '26, the recent annual conference of the National Independent Venue Association.
StageWater Gives Back 15% To Help Live Music Workers
Founded by three touring industry veterans, StageWater gives back "to the people who keep live music running" by donating 15% of profits to Backline, MusiCares, Music Health Alliance, NIVA, and The Roadie Clinic. These organizations expand healthcare access, provide hardship relief, and support the crews, artists, and venues behind live shows.
Last year Live Nation made an equity investment in Liquid Death Mountain Water and features its recyclable aluminum "tallboy" cans across 120 U.S. venues and festivals.
NIVA, Bandsintown launch Live Pulse
To provide a clear, data-driven view of what's happening on the ground in independent live music, NIVA (National Independent Venue Association) and Bandsintown have launched The Live Pulse, a monthly survey tracking the health of independent live events in the United States.
In inaugural June 2026 Live Pulse survey, more than 212 independent venues, promoters, and festivals shared insights that exposed a distinct structural squeeze: softening advance ticket demand on one side, and climbing operational costs on the other.
