Sound Rink and Laylo have teamed up to help artists turn tour announcements into VIP sales, presales and a fan audience they can reach again on the next run.
Under the partnership announced Tuesday, September 29, Sound Rink will help artists set up and run campaigns on Laylo, the platform used for ticket, merch and content drops. That includes artists new to Laylo as well as those who already have an account. Sound Rink says it can bring together an artist’s mailing lists, social audience, e-commerce contacts and other fan touchpoints to promote shows and collect direct fan signups. Laylo also lists Sound Rink as an affiliate.
The companies say several pilot campaigns generated substantially more presale and VIP revenue than the artists’ previous tours, citing increases of 2x, 3.5x and 16x. Those are company-reported examples, rather than a platform-wide average; the release does not detail the size or terms of each comparison. One established group, the companies say, added nearly 20,000 fans through teasers and show-specific RSVPs and brought in nearly $200,000 before its tour began. An emerging band reportedly more than tripled its previous tour’s gross revenue during the presale period.
Sound Rink says it has sold more than 500,000 tickets across over 250 tours and paid $24 million to artists since 2023. Laylo says its campaigns have powered more than 250 million fan actions and $1 billion in sales across tickets, merch and content since 2021.
A venue, city, or date-specific RSVP gives an artist a clearer picture of where demand is coming from, including fans who do not buy immediately. Those contacts can help with the next announcement or a later ticket push, provided fans opt in to further messages.
For independent artists, the practical lesson is to treat a presale as the start of an ongoing conversation. A VIP package may raise revenue on this tour; knowing which fans showed interest, and having permission to reach them directly, can make the next tour easier to launch.
