Yahoo! Music, the web giant's music news site, has tapped into The Echo Nest's Dynamic Music Data solution to discover and deliver reviews, blog posts, artist images and social network activity. This multi-year agreement will see The Echo Nest sending music data about hundreds of thousands of artists in real time to Yahoo!.
In an effort to go beyond the limited editorial content and near-static artist info found on many music sites, The Echo Nest will parse a broad range of data and activity to measure which artists Yahoo! users want to see featured.
The partnership also includes some unusual music discovery features: location-based music recommendations, details about when an artist was
active, their latest images, recent Facebook and Twitter feeds, how well the
artist is known, and their latest reviews, blog posts and articles.
