Discount Anti-Piracy CD’s

MusicBizFROM THE “CAN IT GET ANY STRANGER?” DEPARTMENT –

Another way to compete with downloading and burning will be tested in Europe this August, when BMG starts offering a multi-tiered CD pricing strategy. A discount “anti-piracy” CD – offering no cover or CD booklet – will be sold at a $3 discount in Europe than the “regular” (artwork included) version. For about $5 more, consumers can get a “luxury” CD that will offer DVD extras and special add-on features.
