In the latest live music industry news, Andrea Bocelli has signed an exclusive 5 year agreement for his live performances with AEG, in collaboration with his management team and WME.
The agreement covers all five continents and all ticketed live events.
“This extraordinary partnership marks a fundamental new chapter for Andrea’s global career,” said Veronica Berti and Francesco Pasquero, co-managers of the Maestro. “We are extremely pleased to sign with such exceptional partners who have proven not only to be up to the challenge of this ambitious project, but who have also shown a deep commitment to the artistic vision. • NIVA Executive Director Stephen Parker issued a strong statement opposing Trumps efforts to defund the NEA:
“The cancellation of National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) grants and proposed funding cuts in the President’s budget undermine the billions of dollars in economic activity that nonprofit live performance stages help generate in every state. These institutions support jobs, strengthen local economies, and serve as the cultural heartbeat of thousands of communities across the country.”
“Particularly concerning are reports that grants awarded months or years ago for projects already completed by organizations may not be paid out. If true, this is unacceptable and will jeopardize the ability of some of these organizations to keep their doors open and put real jobs at risk.”
“We urge Congress to prioritize robust NEA funding, particularly for venues, presenters, and festivals, and call on the White House to restore the grants nonprofit stages rely on to continue operating and serving communities nationwide.”

• FTC vs. The TICKET Act – The Federal Trade Commission last week issued an FAQ clarifying its “Rule on Unfair or Deceptive Fees.” In it, the FTC warns speculative ticket sellers and clarifies fee transparency rules.
In contrast to the FTC warning, The TICKET Act carves out a specific exception for so-called concierge ticket buying services as long as they “disclose to consumers if a ticket being offered for sale is a speculative ticket and that the seller does not have actual or constructive possession of the ticket.” [Details here]
