The SAG AFTRA and Industry Sound Recordings Distribution Fund was established in 2012. It operates under the SAG AFTRA National Code of Fair Practice for Sound Recordings. Its responsibility is to receive and distribute performer payments due under the code.
The Agreement covers more than 600 signatory companies. This includes major labels Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music, and Warner Music Entertainment Group, all signed to the code.
SRDF is governed by a board of trustees with equal representation from SAG-AFTRA and the major record companies. SRDF acts on behalf of performers for the digital exploitation of sound recordings, music videos, and sync licenses.
