Raise The Stage is a new series of micro-documentaries spotlighting influential North American independent music venues, put together in partnership between the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) and Jai Alai IPA, the flagship beer brand from Cigar City Brewing.
Today's release highlights Washington D.C.'s Songbyrd Music House, a space that has only been open for ten years but is deeply entrenched in the local community's cultural identity. Housed in D.C.'s NE sector, in the Union Market neighborhood, the venue showcases a multitude of musical genres night after night in an intimate yet professional atmosphere.

Each episode of Raise The Stage pairs a venue operator with an artist who has a meaningful connection to the space, exploring how local venues help launch careers, build communities, and sustain regional music scenes.
The project is part of Jai Fidelity, a broader music-focused platform from Jai Alai IPA aimed at connecting the brand with live music culture and fan communities. Beyond the video series, Jai Alai IPA will also serve as title sponsor of a new NIVA marketing grant designed to help independent venues strengthen local awareness, audience engagement, and long-term sustainability.
