ReverbNation Buys Mobile App Maker Sound Around

ReverbNation has image from blog.reverbnation.com acquired Sound Around, an application developer focused on creating custom mobile apps for musicians. The deal will enable ReverbNation to extend its growing artist toolkit. Details of the transaction are not being released.

This acquisition represents a significant leap in our ability to positively affect the music industry by allowing Artists to both acquire new fans and engage existing fans on a deeper level,” said Steve Klein, CEO of Sound Around.  Added President of Sound Around, Scott Klein “We’re both very excited to be joining a fantastic team with an impressive appetite for building valuable industry tools.”

  1. Brilliant!! As much as I love RN, it’s kinda felt like they had plateaued out. Mobile app and functionality is a huge step forward. Now, if only they could keep artists informed about Ping progress and develop some HTML5 media widgets (I’d like my widgets to be iOS compatible) they’d be ticking more of my boxes.
