Twitter Adds Up To 4 Photos Per Tweet Plus Tags

4-photo-tweetYesterday Twitter announced some updates that should be of great interest to those marketing music. You can now add up to 4 photos per tweet and can also tag up to 10 people in the photos without adding to your message limit. It sounded like a mess until I saw some examples but the multiple photos are a nice look. Just remember to check your settings to cut down on tag spam.

Twitter's getting all sorts of attention this week as they shift music strategies, team with Billboard and experiment.

But the most immediate news for daily users is the addition of multiphoto uploads and tags which also display in embedded Tweets:

"Share up to 4 photos in a single Tweet"

"You can also share a series of photos that automatically create a collage. Just tap on a preview to get the full image and slide through the group. The ability to upload multiple photos is starting to roll out today on iPhone, and is coming soon to Android and twitter.com. Whether you’re on iPhone, Android or twitter.com, you can view Tweets with multiple photos."

"Tag up to 10 people in a photo"

"Tagging people in a picture makes conversations around photos fun and easy. And tagging doesn’t affect character count in the Tweet — you can tag up to 10 people in a photo and still have all 140 characters at your disposal, making it easier to connect with your friends. If you’re the one being tagged, you’ll get a notification."

Here's more from Twitter's Help Center about posting photos.

Be sure to revisit your privacy settings to set notifications. If you've experienced tag spam on Facebook you know it can be an unpleasant experience.
