Merchbar Keeps Fans In The Know With Newest Feature: Merch Alerts

Hackpad.com_u5iXmb7jM6t_p.267971_1426631127090_merch-alert-header-v2Merchbar, a leading music merchandise website, has launched Merch Alerts, a new feature that alerts fans when their favorite artists release new merchandise for purchase.

Merchbar Merch Alerts was built with the superfan in mind. Released in Beta, Merch Alerts is a downloadable iPhone app that tracks the artists in the users iTunes library and those they follow on Facebook to keep up to date on the latest merchandise releases.

"Before Merchbar, music merchandise was spread across the web in thousands of different web stores, many of which didn't even have a mailing list. Now, not only does Merchbar provide fans one place to discover and buy merchandise from many of the world's top artists, no fans have one simple service to alert them when new gear they will love is released." Edward Aten, Merchbar's Founder and CEO, said in a statement. "Now in just a couple of minutes on one site, fans can set up alerts for new merch for merchandise from all the artists they love."

"Merch Alerts are a huge opportunity for artists too: As social networks become more crowded with information it becomes increasingly difficult for artists to share news with their fans. By creating an easy, seamless way to alert fans to new merchandise they will love, both fans and artists win." Aten said.
