ROSTR Announces Searchable Promoter Directory to Help Artists Build Tour Routes

ROSTR’s new promoter directory will help artists and agents find local buyers, assess their booking experience, and gain new touring opportunities.

Music industry intelligence platform ROSTR has announced ROSTR Promoters, a searchable directory designed to help artists and agents find the people who buy, market, and make live shows happen.

Unveiled October 4 at the International Entertainment Buyers Association’s 56th annual conference in Nashville, the directory is scheduled to launch in 2027. ROSTR describes it as the world’s first searchable promoter database.

The idea addresses a familiar touring problem: knowing which venue an artist wants to play doesn’t necessarily tell their team who can put the show together. A promoter brings more than a room into the equation. They make the offer, take on financial risk, market the event, and draw on local audience relationships.

Finding someone with the right experience can be as important as finding a venue with the right capacity.

Finding the Next Buyer

ROSTR Promoters is being built to help touring teams look beyond their existing contacts. An agent might already know the major buyers in New York or Los Angeles but have fewer connections in a smaller market that could make a tour route work.

The directory will bring promoter information into a single searchable platform, with profiles intended to show which artists promoters have worked with, the genres they have booked, and the cities and markets where they operate.

That context could help teams identify buyers whose experience fits an artist’s audience, while giving promoters more visibility beyond their established networks.

For independent artists, the potential value is practical: a promising market becomes more useful when you can identify someone equipped to promote a show there. A promoter’s booking history could give a team a stronger starting point for outreach and help uncover opportunities between the obvious tour stops.

Connecting Venues and Promoters

The announcement builds on ROSTR’s existing information about venues and artist representation, adding another part of the relationships that underpin touring. Vivian Wang Donohue, ROSTR’s Chief Growth Officer said:

"Promoters carry the financial risk on every show that goes on sale, and they are the least documented job in the business. We had to do venues first, because you cannot map a promoter without knowing the rooms. This is the other half of that."

ROSTR positions the directory as a response to rising touring costs, competition for venue availability, and a fragmented ticket marketplace. Its proposed contribution is better access to potential partners: helping artists and agents find buyers they might otherwise never encounter, and helping those buyers get discovered.
